Say Her Name
The 2016 election and the events of this past year fostered a profound sense of disenfranchisement, outrage and grief that came to a head with the murders of Breonna Taylor and George Floyd. Say Her Name is a new series responding to this. It celebrates powerful, creative, inspiring Black women who have touched my life, from near and far. Although the series must begin with Breonna, all the subsequent artworks pay tribute to Black woman for the lives they have lived, rather than the lives they so tragically and unjustly lost.
